Federalwide Assurance:

ºÚÁÏÍø has a Federalwide Assurance (FWA) with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for the protection of human research subjects. Through the terms of the FWA, ºÚÁÏÍø commits to DHHS that it will comply with the requirements found in the DHHS Protection of Human Subjects regulations at .

The FWA covers all non-exempt human subjects research submitted at ºÚÁÏÍø that is conducted or supported by DHHS, or funded by any other federal agency. However, ºÚÁÏÍø voluntarily extends its FWA to cover all human subject research, regardless of the source of funding, including human subject research conducted by ºÚÁÏÍø students.

ºÚÁÏÍø will also extend its FWA to cover human subject research conducted by external research partners with whom ºÚÁÏÍø has established an agreement. Contact the IRB Office (250 SIH, irb@jcu.edu) for more information about research partnerships and reliance agreements.
